Bank sync app with secure Plaid transaction import

Connect accounts in 60 seconds. Transactions sync automatically, recurring bills become visible, categories update as money moves, and scanned receipts reconcile against the matching bank activity.

Built for bank sync app searches, not Plaid developer setup

If you are searching for a finance tracker with bank sync, Expense Atlas gives you Plaid-powered transaction import without making you manage integrations, webhooks, or transaction APIs yourself.

How does bank sync work?

Expense Atlas uses Plaid, the industry-standard bank aggregation service trusted by Venmo, Robinhood, Chime, and most fintech apps you already use. The flow is simple and secure.

  1. Open Plaid Link — you click "Connect a bank" inside Expense Atlas; Plaid’s secure modal opens.
  2. Authenticate with your bank — for most major US banks this is OAuth: you log in directly on your bank’s site. Your credentials never touch Plaid or us.
  3. Plaid issues a read-only token — scoped to transaction history. No bill pay, no transfers, no write access.
  4. We pull transactions nightly — pending and settled. Each one is categorized automatically as it arrives.
  5. You can revoke at any time — from the connections page or directly in your bank’s app.

All major US banks plus credit unions, brokerages, and UK and EU banks via Plaid.

OAuth Where Possible

Your credentials go directly to your bank. We never see your username or password.

Nightly Auto-Sync

New transactions stream in nightly with on-demand refresh from the connections page.

Receipt Reconciliation

Scanned receipts are automatically matched to bank transactions; no duplicates.

Bank-Grade Encryption

AES-256-GCM at rest, AWS KMS key management, TLS 1.3 in transit. Per-user keys.

Multi-Currency

Multi-currency accounts are normalized to your home currency in dashboards and budgets.

Don’t want to use Plaid? You have other options.

Bank sync is the most automated path, but Expense Atlas works without it too.

Bank Statement PDFs

Upload PDFs from your bank. AI parses them into transactions and categorizes.

CSV Import

Import CSV exports from your bank or another budgeting app.

Receipt Scanning

Scan receipts directly. Each one becomes a transaction without any bank connection.
